Did you ever watch a movie when you were supposed to be working?

Asked by filmfann (52487points) April 19th, 2011

Another air traffic control was suspended yesterday, but this one wasn’t sleeping… he was watching a movie on DVD. He accidentally keyed his mike, and broadcast the Samuel L. Jackson movie “The Cleaner” to all the plains (I kind of wish it had been “Snakes on a Plane”).
So, did you ever watch a movie while you were supposed to be working?
Did you get caught?
What were the repercussions?

I never did.

No never! That would interrupt my Fluther time while I am at work!

I’m with Cruiser. I’m not giving up Fluther to watch a movie when I should be working.

I use to watch movies while working the 3rd shift (11p-6a). Never got caught. Actually whenever I was needed, they knew where to find me.

I’ve watched a YouTube video or two.

I occasionally watch a movie when I’m grading. It depends on how much I need to concentrate to grade the particular assignment.

Nope! I’ve had two jobs in my short little life (I stayed at each for 6 years), and neither were conducive to movie-watching (fast food manager and bookstore clerk).

However, I just got HBO and all kinds of movie channels over the weekend, so I can guarantee that I’ll have movies on while doing schoolwork!

Nah, time & a place & all that. Work is for hard graft, having a crack with the lads & sending/receiving naughty texts with the missus ;¬}

No, but I do enjoy masturbating at work as often as possible. Not so much for the thrill or the sensation but because, technically, I’m getting paid while I’m doing it.

@Blondejon LMAO! You are one crazy and hilarious guy!

No, but I’ve Fluthered while at work once.

OK, actually I do all the time. (Don’t tell the boss.)

@Blondesjon

I see you’ve been hanging out with Astrochuck a lot. He’s rubbing off on you.

That’s meant as a compliment to both of you, btw :)

No I never had the opportunity. All of my third graders would have demanded to watch it with me.

Can’t get anything by those observant little buggers :)

All the time. Like @bobbinhood I watch lots of Netflix while grading. When I go into my lab on weekends and no one will be bothered by it, I love listening to Radiolab or watching movies while pipetting stuff.

I’ve watched many a movie while I should have been finishing homework..

Working the graveyard shift on the shipyards, yes, we used to duck into the security office for coffee & biscuits too… :-/
We had radio’s if we were needed…… Lol…..

I’ve watched a lot of movies at work. Once, we all went to watch Avatar, boss and all. We were ‘researching’ 3D. I like my job.

Blondesjon's avatar

@atomicmonkey . . . any openings and, uh, plane tickets?

I will admit that I have watched a few movies on the job.
My job used to involve really working my ass of when we were busy, and my boss would tell us, when things were slow, to go enjoy the day and “don’t get caught”.
I also recall once when another worker brought in a movie that we had discussed the day before, so that I could point out the references. I was on a conference call the entire time, so I had nothing else to do while we waited for another worker to fix a programming problem.
Anyway, I wasn’t leaving a bunch of jets in the air unattended or anything.

Only while doing homework have I watched movies, but I intend to skip class on dead-end days to watch movies. In addition to the record player there for the same purpose.

Nope, would have been so disciplined if caught! Plus, usually no chance.
