Do You Listen to Country Music?
Almost everybody I know do not listen or like country music. I love it and other people should too. What country songs relate to you?

I used to say I listen to everything but country. I now like the older stuff, but not the new, pop country they play now.
Soundtrack to Urban Cowboy, yes.
Everything else, no.
I have very, very broad musical tastes. I’m not going to say that country is my favorite or anything, but I definitely do have some ‘country’ in my musical arsenal.
I listen to music I like. I don’t bother about what genre it is that much any more. My ipod has some country on it (Johnny Cash for example) but just because I like that don’t mean I’m gonna like all country.
I listen to some country music. I’m a huge fan of Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
I down with some Johnny and some Willie. I also like anything circa 1945 or earlier (Hank Sr. could yodel tears from granite).
If you have some bluegrass, some bourbon, and some bud, why, I’d be more than happy to pass a summer evening in the backyard with ya.
shredders have nothing on pickers
I like country; however, my kids and I have an agreement. I do not listen to country around them and they do not listen to screamo around me, usually. I grew up with Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings, Boxcar Willie, Willie Nelson and the like.
I live in Alabama so you think I would like country music… but I don’t! I remember going to Alaska for a visit with a friend for a week and we went to a bar, of course I thought surely no country here… but the first bar we went to it was Country Night and everyone had on country attire and there was country music blasting! haha I thought it was a trip nontheless. Anywhoo… I can do old Hank Jr. and I do like Country Fried by someone country, not sure, but it makes me wanna dance so I have it on my iTouch. I love pretty much everything but country and punk.
I relate to quite a few, actually. I relate best to almost all of them about US soldiers and a few about love and what not. Bottom Line: I was born and raised by it and it is always gonna hols a special place in my heart!
Country nowadays is all the same sounding…
The only country performer that I remember actually liking (a lot) was Johnny Cash. Sure, his songs sounded very similar aswell, but there was still something unique about them…it’s kinda hard to explain.
@MysticRain We should like it?
I don’t know shit about country music, not really. Does Johnny Cash count? I love him.
Yeah, I really don’t know the true definition of “country music”. Shoulda thought of that before posting.
I don’t, but while living in the south my husband has taken a liking to it. I kind of get a kick out of it. It started when we had a big Dodge Hemi truck. Every time we drove the truck he would set the radio on country. It’s so cliché it cracks me up. We don’t have the truck anymore, but he still listens to country at times.
@Blondesjon – It’s true!
Once upon a time, I had a brief, but huge crush on Dwight Yoakum. I think if any of the kids I grew up with knew that, I’d’ve been stoned with very large rocks, indeed..
I like Hank Williams Jr and Johnny Cash songs. And of course Bob Wills because he’s still the king!
Yes..is there any other kind? LOL
I don´t listen to country music if I can help it. Saying people ´should´ listen to it sounds dreadfully annoying.
Hank 3 Its a country song about how sucky pop country sucks. Pills I Took is another song by Hank 3 about being fucked up on pills, breaking mirrors, and making women cry.
