Three months and I was back to new. Haven’t used it since. Miracle drug for me @Jude. I wanted to be happy again and it really helped to straighten out my brain waves. Best wishes Sweetie.
I’ve taken Wellbutrin and its generic for buproprion for years. It helps keep me out of those dark places my mind tends to go when left on its own. It’s helped me tremendously.
I lost my appetite sometimes with it. Other than that, it made me a fucking ray of sunshine.
With everyones answers I think I want some Wellbutrin!!!
Totally didn’t work for me. Multiple psychiatrists kept trying over the years, despite that fact. They tried different dosages and whatnot, but nope. Doesn’t work for me.
I guess I have a really funky brain. Only one antidepressant I’ve tried has worked for me (Effexor) and even that pooped out on me after a month. :\
I’m taking Wellbutrin now, and I like it!
I tried it for six weeks and noticed no change, good or bad. However, after two doses of Effexor, when I vomited up the pill both times, I stopped that also.
Well, I just saw my therapist and he put me on Wellibutrin and a low dose of Clonazepam.
Here goes nothin’!
Is the clonazepam an anti-anxiety?
There’s a lot of anxiety with many mental illnesses
I take welbutrin and have been doing so for 3 years. I’m happy (and happy with it).
There were a few days last week when I wish I could have had some klonopin.
@janbb – Yes. It’s Klonopin. :)
My current happiness is a combo of Wellbutrin and Xanax.
He said that we’ll go with Wellibutrin, instead of Celexa, as it doesn’t mess with your libido.
Wellbutrin stopped me from wanting to die and the addition of Effexor made me expectant of the future. The two together have changed my life.
@Jude – Yeah, Wellbutrin is the go-to for that reason. I do hope for your sake that it works, because the sexual dysfunction associated with other antidepressants and axiolytics can be really rough and can also put a strain on a relationship. Wellbutrin’s pretty much the best out there, in terms of effects vs. side effects.
I took Clonazepam for a while. After several years it loses its efficacy so I stopped. Weaning off it was a challenge, but I gritted my teeth through the month of hot flashes, head aches, gippy tum, and temporary oddities. I don’t miss it al all.
It, and Zoloft, enabled me to set up a challenging exercise program and now that I have reached my goals, I can use the treadmill, yoga and hand weights to replace the Clonazepam.
Gail, he did mention that. If I upped my exercise regime (he suggested jogging), I wouldn’t have to go all crazy with the Clonazepam. I plan on getting back into running.
@Jude I’m excited for you, and I hope it works! (I’m looking to start wellbutrin too as soon as I get an appointment)
It was not the medication for me. It made me moody and irritable, but the perk was definitely an absence of sexual side effects. I also found that it made food taste funny to me, but I didn’t stay on it for very long. Worth a shot, I have heard lots of good things about it from other friends and family.
My friend Amy did not do well on it at all. It caused all sorts of nasty side effects and caused her to have to go on many other medications because of the conditions it caused.
I’ve been on Wellbutrin since I was 15. Helps with my sex drive (since I’m on Prozac and that lowers it) and also decreases appetite. If you want to lose weight or maintain your weight, that’s a good deal.
I love it.
My daughter, age 27, takes it and likes its effect very much. She is bipolar and hated effexor’s effects on her.
Funny, wellbutrin did nothing for me,Prozac made me look stoned, paxil did nothing, effexor made me deathly ill, valproic acid got my heartburn the worse ever, and then I proceeded to kill myself with the entire bottle…My method of de-maddening is now topomax which is a anti-convulsant but is used for other issues as well. You have to find what works for you best.
Been taking Wellbutrin for awhile and it has been working just fine. :) No side effects.
I’m glad for the update. Wonderful news. Keep on, keeping on. Here’s to a great June!
