Will this be England's last extravaganza? Will there be another one after this (his younger brother) and is this the end of the monarchy?

My eyes are glued to the set.
What a waste of money.
On a Friday, too.
Where’s Diana – is she watching? Would she be happy and proud of his choice?
And are these extravagant weddings – well – a little over the top what with the ecnolic situation in GB?
How do they justify it?
Did you see the guest list? The dictators invited? Amazing.

I’ve got a good view of the proceedings from the sixth floor of the book depository…
I plan to have my daughters wedding funded by the tax paying British public, when she grows up. Take the financial burden away from daddy, why not? As for the potential end of the monarchy….per chance to dream dear boy….one day, one fine day!
This is actually a low key affair not a full blown state wedding. I mean they took mini buses to the church.
I hope so. Hopefully not and hopefully.
If Diana is watching, perhaps her ghost can arrange for a major traffic accident that sends some paparazzi to her realm for whatever punishment she wants to give them.
Yes.
I don’t see how they can.
No. No.
‘Where’s Diana – is she watching?’ I think if she were her, it would make for better viewing. I would tune in just to see the ol’ girl.
Way too much pomp. Makes me sick considering the sources of their wealth.
I hope they switch it up and serve the guests plonk.
I would guess when Harry marries it will be an event as well. Not as much as this one, but still televised. It might depend on what Harry does over the next several years to endear himself to the people.
How much of tis is paid with taxpayer money, and how much from the already existing wealth of the royal family?
@JLeslie I have a feeling Harry will elope or either never marry:). As for paying for this wedding, I think I read somewhere that the Queen Mum was paying for the festivities, and the taxpayers were paying for the security. Which one do you think cost the most? tehehe
@AmWiser That seems acceptable. I’m sure the UK is bringing in quite a bit of tax money from tourism for the event.
@zen Isn’t their population around $50million? So a buck a person.
It is an OUTRAGE that royal blood marries a peasant woman, instead of a noblewoman, as befits the aristocracy.
Plus, to answer the original question. I would think when Kate and William’s first child gets married, it will be an event.
Of course I don’t care what the British spend their money on. But if I were a British taxpayer, I would be throwing my fit. What makes the Queen’s kids more deserving than anyone else’s? Especially after this last generation of scandal and degenerate behavior. And, if I were a British citizen, I would start a riot if that donkey-faced Charles and his new wife, Bigfoot, ever became King and Queen.
