Who is better Batman or Superman?

Asked by Eggie (5926points) April 29th, 2011

My little nephew and I are arguing this issue. He says its Superman, I said its Batman. I told him I could give him proof on Fluther. I personally have always believed that Batman was the hero because he doesn’t need any superpowers, what do you think?

The adult in me chooses Batman because like you stated he depends on knowledge and using his mind to concur criminals. The kid in me chooses Superman because of his super powers and he can fly (who wouldn’t think that was better?).

Batman makes a better omelet…he wins.

Superman is a pervert in a skin tight, coloured suit with panties on the outside.
Batman is a pervert in a fursuit.
Son Goku is a badass in a combat suit who can destroy entire planets by shooting energybeams out of his hands.

Son Goku wins.

Batman went to Yale. ‘Nuff said. :-)

Batman looks cooler but Superman can fly.

Batman had a Batmobile and a valet.

Batman because he relies on his brain…but he has also achieved feats of physical strength that seem superhuman. Plus, his weakness isn’t a rock. He instills fear into the hearts of his enemies, unlike Superman, who just seems too nice sometimes. Batman is the world’s greatest detective, and can figure out stuff using all his BatFiles and his BatComputer, and all the other gadgets that have “Bat-” as a prefix. Batman built the Justice League Watchtower Satellite Station. Batman has a bunch of gadgets in his utility belt, and seems to be the only person on the face of the earth who can rock the utility belt look. Batman has the better movies IMO. Batman is a sort of genius. Batman’s suit is armor, whereas Superman’s suit just seems to be some expanded workout tights, and not really useful but to make him look conspicuous when trying to sneak up on people. Batman has a pretty solid secret identity. Superman puts on some nerdy glasses and does something with his hair, and poof! he’s Clark Kent; which also makes the people in Supes’ comic books seem like real idiots for not seeing that. Batman is also very sexy. :D

Batman does not wear bright blue and red tights, so he wins.

Who is better? Superman is probably a better person than any of us. And Batman has issues.
Who could win in a fight? Batman has kicked Supe’s ass several times.

I’d prefer to have dinner with Batman but would pick Superman to back me up in a bar fight.

Batman is dreamier.

Batman had Catwoman, Superman had Lois Lane.

It depends…which Batman? If it’s the George Clooney one, then I say Superman. If it’s the Michael Keaton one, Batman all the way…

Batman has my vote…besides, he’s just human while Superman is from another planet. Therefore, Superman has an unfair advantage.

Well, when batman is also a crack head boxer, a psychotic business man, a one legged cowboy, a deadly gun toting cleric, the savior of man from the machines, twin magicians, and a little British lad stuck in China… it’s definitely batman for the win.

Superman looks like the alien in him still doesn’t know that underwear is supposed to be worn under the pants, not over.

Spiderman.

Wonder Woman.

I used to have a pair of Superman undercrackers & a Batman vest. Hmm, decisions, decisions…..ball warmer or nipple teaser? Yup, i’m going to go with the teats :¬)

Batman because he gets to shag a lot women. But I would go with Captain Hindsight.

Batman and Superman would duke it out for a while, until Arm Fall Off Boy arrived and beat the living piss out of them.

Truth is no one’s better. Any real or reel hero would never admit to being better.

@mazingerz88 that’s why they have us fans to bicker over it.

Batman in round three.

Haha yeah, what @ragingloli said. Saiyans can fly and destroy entire worlds just by pointing at them. Plus they’re all named after veggies, so that’s an automatic win right there. Prince Vegita FTW!

Anyways, Batman, for reasons already listed; he doesn’t need no dinky super powers to be awesome. Plus that pot belly man, hmmm…taps chest Pure. West.

Growing up, I adored Superman, but he’s basically a symbol of goodness, and a simple character that he appeals to children. Batman has complexities you cannot appreciate until you’re older; therefore while Batman has better comics, Superman has more credence.

I would say that Batman is better if for no reason other than he is human and doesn’t rely as much on Deus ex machina or other hokiness to do what he does.

Batman often achieves victory through cunning and is far better suited for instances where a heat ray or brute force won’t help. Want to solve world hunger? Yeah, Superman can plow and plant a field in a few minutes and feed a few people, but Batman can come up a far-reaching plan to grow crops in perpetuity and distribute them to millions while creating jobs that help people elsewhere in the process. Want to solve a mystery? Go with the guy who has skills in forensics over the guy who just flies to Lex Luthor’s office and shakes him down.

And speaking of shaking people down, Batman is better at that too. Superman may be strong enough to rip you limb from limb or melt your face off, but he is too much of a boy scout to be intimidating. On the other hand, Batman isn’t afraid to rip out a person’s spleen and beat them with it. Of course, he hasn’t actually had to do that since he scares people into submission without having to do so, which should tell you something.

Batman proves what is humanly possible while Superman demonstrates that humanity is inferior. Batman gives us things to aspire to, like great but achievable cunning, agility, ingenuity, etcetera while Superman makes us feel like putzes for not being able to fly, lift tanks, or shoot rays from our eyes.

Batman all the way. A main reason why I love Batman is he didn’t have any extraordinary powers. He inspired me anyone can do anything, even they don’t have superpower.

Like Spiderman, Batman has more angst in his life, and so we can identify with him. He’s not quite the everyman that Spiderman is…Peter Parker has to struggle with money and his horrible boss, unlike Bruce Wayne, but Bruce has to deal with seeing the death of his parents…

Spiderman is one of my favorites though…
