Anything by Sondheim. Especially Into the Woods. That is simply the most wonderful musical ever written. I guess if I had to pick one of them, it would have to be “Last Midnight” that the Witch sings.
Let Me Dance For You from A Chorus Line. It’s perfect. or The Music and The Mirror. Also from A Chorus Line.
Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain and the waving wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain. Okies do it raw.
Memory from Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Either La Vie Boheme or Another Day by Jonathan Larson (Rent).
I’ve never been to a Broadway show (I feel so deprived), but of the West End musicals I’ve seen, my favorite would have to be Phantom of the Opera or anything from Mama Mia (for nostalgic reasons)
Anything from Rent (Jonathan Larson) or Blood Brothers (Willy Russell). Both wonderful productions.
Agreed with anything from Rent, and I’m also going to go with Aida (Elton John/Tim Rice) as well
eh, i gotta get back at peedub and others somehow.
How about “Think of Me”, phantom of the opera ;)
Well…
Now that “Young Frankenstein” is on Broadway…..
‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’
What a hard question: I think of Carousel and the many songs there, and Annie Get Your Gun, and A Little Night Music. Those were the days, my friend.
anything from rent sounds awesome.
Love the finale from Candide. It is lovely, simple, and true, and kind of a surprisingly sweet twist to a raucously funny musical.
That’s a hard one. Being from England I am not up to date with what is still on Broadway and what has closed but by “Broadway song” I assume you mean musical so I’m just going to take all of them into consideration whether or not it is on Broadway. So…...if I had to choose my all time favoutite musical song it would probably be One Day More from Les Miserables.
It changes for me a lot, but I always seem to fall back on “Stars” from Les Miserables. Such a thought-provoking song.
