Trying to find out who sang this song... "Lover on a Rainy Day"?

This song is probably very obscure and was done by an indie performer around 1988… I am unable to find it online or in iTunes and it came up in a big discussion, so now it’s bugging me. In the big wide Fluther world out there, does someone happen to know?

It goes like this, more or less:
