Have I lost my software update forever?
Ok, so i bought the january software update for my iPod Touch and everything was great. Then i tried installing boot-camp and it said i had a disk error so i wiped my mac disk and re-installed leopard.
Then i reset my ipod (it was acting up) and restored it, when i plugged it back in to sync the software update didn’t go back on the ipod and so now i’m stuck without the update and $25 less out of my pocket. it there any way to get it back without paying; AND i am signed into my itunes account with the same user as i was when i bought the update.

You can contact Apple’s iTunes support from within iTunes, and explain the situation to them; Apple has been known to grant re-downloading of tunes (and presumably software) to users on a case-by-case basis.
The above description would seem sufficient in detail for them, IMO.
Oh and i went into my purchase history and it was sitting there
Aaaand you sorted it just as I posted. :) Haha. Best of luck!
After several painful E-mails with apple support they finally just queued it up in my downloads on iTunes so when i went on to my iTunes i could just re-download it!
Just for future record, in case anyone else is in this situation, on a Mac you can option-click the update button in iTunes with your iPod Touch connected, and go
Users>Username>Library>iTunes>Mobile Applicatons>iPod Touch app pack 4A93.ipa (or whatever) in the selection menu that pops up.
iTunes does not delete update files off your computer, so as long as you have not deleted it from this folder you don’t need to re-download it or re-purchase it at all.
