If you have to use all and only four letters, and no letter can repeated, then it seems there are 24 possible combinations.

Depends. If you can’t repeat letters, then @ragingloli is right and it is 4! (24 combinations). 4×3 x 2×1.

If you can repeat letters, then it’s 4×4 x 4×4 and there are 256 combinations. :P

With 256 combinations, assuming it takes you 10 seconds to input the combintation, then you should be able to break the code in about 45 minutes.
