Is there a grape juice out there that tastes like white wine?

Asked by tedibear (19399points) May 9th, 2011

I love chardonnay and riesling of most varieties, but don’t always want the alcohol that’s in wine. Does anyone know of a fruit juice (grape or otherwise) that tastes like wine, or close to it?

I have a feeling the answer may be no, because it’s likely that part of the taste that I like is because of the alcohol content. Any thoughts, hints or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I have seen mock wine in the juice section of my local store. I don’t use it so I can’t tell you how close it is to the real thing. It can’t hurt to try it once.

There is alcohol-free wine that is pretty good.

You might like Ingelnook White Zinfndel non alcoholic wine.

Or Ariel Chardonnay non alcoholic wine.

As @Kardamom suggested, the Ariel wines have stood up well in blind taste tests against their alcoholic equivalents. I have to confess I don’t drink wine for the taste of it, so I can’t verify.

White grape juice?

@drdoombot – I think white grape juice is sweeter than I’m looking for. Not a bad idea to try it again, as it has been a long time since I’ve had it.
