I looked out my window and saw 2 pretty damn ugly toads trapped in my window well. Mind you we DO NOT have a shortage of toads here…hundreds of them is an underestimate. Would you “save” them or let Nature and Darwin do it’s thing??

Well, whenever I was younger we’d take firecrackers and shove them in the mouths of toads. It made for an exciting experience.
But, if they are stuck, you should get them out. If they die there they end up smelling icky.
Let them out. They will eat those mosquitos and they feed these guys.He ate this toad then tried to grab a squirrel right after I took this picture.Apparently, one toad is not enough.
My phobia of insects, varmints, and critters would have prompted me to destroy the little buggers before I could have thought to ‘oh! I’m going to set you free somewhere away from my domain’. So sorry:(
Oh, you should save them. If a cat got stuck in your window well would you leave it there to die? Probably not, so save the poor toad.
This situation seems like it could be very funny. In staid of an alarm clock you could have alarm toads.
@lucillelucillelucille I am afraid those toads are feeding these… and I almost have as many of them as the toads! NOW what would you do??
Most critters, except for hognosed snakes, won’t touch toads- they taste nasty!
Save ‘em. They haven’t had enough time to evolve to adapt to window wells…
@crisw Until then, I built them a little ladder.
OK….Part 2 to the question….how many “re-do’s” do they get? Dang toad is back in the window well…staring at me…now banging on the window!!
I suggest relocating them to somewhere else.
@Cruiser -I would definitely get them out of there then! LOL!
Don’t come crying to me when you need help getting the skunks out of your window well. ;)
….if you want to deter frogs without harming them all you do is spray a heavy concentrate of “SALT WATER” around the areas you don’t want them. What happens is the salt will sting the feet and this makes em move out. Be careful if you have sensitive plants. I just wanted them off my ledges of my house and leaving their droppings. It worked like magic!....

get em out so they don’t smell… anyways there’s supposed to be a fungus spreading worldwide that kills amphibians and has a good chance of causing them to go extinct. Chew on that one, France!
I couldn’t sit there knowing they were slowly dying, but that’s just me, I guess.
@cazzie I do my best to give them a leg up out of the window well.
