I am wanting to call a friend in Manchester (I'm from Canada); what do I dial before her number?

I know that there are a series of numbers that you have to punch in before the actual phone #, when calling overseas.

You need to find the international numbers for your country to call her country. I think it’s four digits. I’ll take a quick look if you don’t get someone that knows the right numbers.

Manchester, England?

011 – US exit code; must be dialed first for all international calls made from the USA or Canada
44 – country code for England/United Kingdom
area code – 2 – 5 digit area codes (Manchester’s is 161)
phone number – 4 – 8 digits; in most cases area code and number total 10 digits in the UK

011 44 plus the Manchester number without the leading zero. So if your friend’s number is 0161 123 4567 then you dial 011 44 161 123 4567

@nailpolishfanatic Or Google Talk.

Just curious though, does your friend watch soccer? If so, is she a fan of Manchester United or Manchester City?
