Is there a way to mass unsubscribe to junk mail (physical)?

Asked by MyNewtBoobs (19069points) May 13th, 2011

Is there a way to unsubscribe to all the junk mail I get – or at least most of it – without calling up each individual company and having them take me off their mailing list?

There’s a website called optoutprescreen.com that can help you avoid getting a glut of preselected credit card offers in the mail. It’s run by the four major credit bureaus. If you give them your mailing info, they will remove you from the mailing list of credit card companies for five years (or permanently, if you choose to do so).

Where I’m living people happily put little signs on their doors saying “NO JUNK MAIL YOU BASTARDS” and I presume that works just fine!

@trickface Lol. I’m actually asking for my mother, who’s moving pretty soon. She gets… all the junk mail in the world.
