I always thought that money shot (especially when aimed at the face of the partner) is the most demeaning demonstration of territory marking. Gail Dines quotes a male porn star in her book – and I don’t remember the exact words, but the gist is that the external cumshot is an acceptable act of violence. So for men using porn to get off alone, it serves as a sort of vicarious revenge on the women they don’t have available for real sex.

I don’t know how true that is, but I found it interesting.

I agree, and one would think that’s what amateur porn is for, but those people do the same thing in homemade videos.

This is just me (female) but I’ve always thought the Money Shot was created by men in order to reassure male audiences that their spooge isn’t gross as they’ve been led to believe and that it’s great stuff, so much so that there are women out there who will writhe around, beg to have their a**holes stretched out to where it could pop out baseballs and loll their tongues around just for that wonderful spooge.

Women in porn on the other hand are portrayed as not needing foreplay in order to become aroused, shown to go into frenzy when their nipples are played with like radio knobs and licked with cunnilingus moves that I personally think would make me either uncomfortable enough to never want oral again or to burst out laughing.

Males make man on woman porn to be reassuring and ego boosting to men while negating the role/response of the woman because they feel most male viewers aren’t getting enough selfish sex time with a partner and the porn is there to let them fantasize it being all about them… and that there are actually women out there who like it that way.

Yeah I never understood why they always pull out, I assumed it was just so the viewer could SEE the ejaculation. Which, for me personally, no thanks, I know what it looks like, I don’t need to see it dribbling down some girls chin.

Why does “money shot” only mean when the guy has an orgasm? Sounds vaguely homoerotic to me. But I guess it’s a twisted sort of narcissism where the performer stands in for the viewer, then.

@aprilsimnel “Money shot” is a film term that was appropriated by the porn industry to replace the more vulgar term “cum shot.” That’s why it only refers to the part where the male ejaculates. As for men wanting to see excited/satisfied women, surely that is not incompatible with wanting to see other things as well?

But in the porn I’ve seen (and granted, my viewing experience isn’t extensive), the picture always ends when the man ejaculates, and boom, fade out.

Like @aprilsimnel, most of the porn I’ve seen ends with the male spooging all over and the woman satisfied with… who knows. Only in foreign porn have I seen the focus on female arousal and orgasm or where the couple is the focus and not primarily the male;s experience and reactions with closeups of woman being orifices or her face full of spooge.

Unfortunetely, most porn producers think that most porn viewers are too stupid to realize that the male actor is cuming inside the girl, and have to actually show the guy cuming as the grand finale. Yes, it’s stupid and dissatisfying when the guy cums outside the girl after all the build up.

On the plus side, some newer porn shows cum oozing out whatever hole he’s in at the moment, letting the viewer know that he’s cumming inside her. Yeah, you know still fake cum, but it’s still better than watching the guy cum on the girl outside her.

@aprilsimnel They actually do have a genre of filmsof women who supposedly squirt on orgasm. Swim likes those, even though he thinks they are mostly fake. There is such a thing as female ejaculation. The fluid comes from the Skenes gland‘s_gland, which have a pair of tiny outlets to either side of the female urinary opening. But the amount of fluid ejected is miniscule when there is any at all, and many women produce no noticeable output. Swim thinks the films actually show little deliberate bursts of pee. Maybe he’s into water-sports, and just doesn’t know it. :-)
