Whats a good idea for a unique wallpaper design?
Something fashionable, cool, unique etc.
It could be ABSOLUTELY anything as long as it meets the criteria above.

Wallpaper as in… wall-wallpaper? Or desktop-wallpaper?
Sexy girl all over the walls :D
Can’t find the original magazine article, but there was a restaurant in CA, I think it was Elements which had decor wallpaper of The Periodic Table. I’m probably mistaken because I can’t find any interior photos which show this. But it looked super cool in the old magazine article (think it was V). It was more like handwriting, as a scientist would scribble on a whiteboard, rather than the official table.
My mom likes to go through art deco/art nouveau/art&crafts motiff books, have a copy machine enlarge designs onto cardstock and then use an exacto blade to cut them into stencils she can spray/sponge/trace over.
Depends on your decorating theme.
I love ethnic design and have mostly asian, middle eastern, indian and modern themes in my house.
I’m a Bamboo freak, so I like the idea of a bamboo theme, maybe a natural bamboo mat color with bamboo leaves or a pale, bambooey green with leaf and stalk sillouettes.
I once covered walls in real bamboo matting, looked very cool! Your own Tiki lounge. ;-)
Swirling black vines with numerous small silver branches sprouting lily white leaves nestling sparkling diamond flowers.
How about printing off page after page of fluther Q&A and plastering it all over your home?
These Guys will do it for you.
@RealEyesRealizeRealLies
LOL What an out of the fluther box idea. No need for any books or magazines in the bathroom, just read the walls, forever. haha

@Neizvestnaya stencils and sponges Yay! You want unique, and presentable and pleasant, that is a very capable recipe. Sponge and rag treatments are not that hard to master – practice on some cardboard first, make test patterns with all sorts of variations, tackle the wall when you have a killer sample.
Toss in some layers and effectively balanced colors and you have something you’ll like every time you look at it.
Giant graphic of outer space, with quasars, planets and nebula
A graphic of blood traveling through arteries
Map of the world with little LED lights behind each of the capital cities from each country
An embossed print out of a Shakespeare play
Children’s finger painting
Dried leaves or pressed flowers
An overhead view of the ocean
A giant thumb print
A million different sets of eyes
A million different paint chip samples
Anything that is one shade of white on top of a slightly different shade of white (so you can barely tell what you are looking at)
Potato prints
Bacteria under an electron microscope
Heat sensitive material that would turn colors when you touched it
Bedazzled Denim
Scratch and Sniff
@Kardamom I like your map of the world idea. A friend of mine wallpapered his bathroom with old detailed maps which looked great and meant I spent far too long in there when I went for a wee. He cut the edges off so that the mapping itself overlapped and pasted them up haphazardly. Looked brilliant.
WOW
those are all great ideas. Thanks guys!
