You can charge down to Pamplona, Spain and partake in the running of the bulls. If you’re lucky enough not to get maimed, head over to San Sebastian in northern Spain, a stunning seaside retreat and enjoy some sangria atop of this lovley hill.
Ok, do you work for Lonely Planet, Frommer’s, or Fodor’s? Haha.
By the way, summer in the States is the low season for the Middle East. Temperatures get up to 120 F in some places. I went to Dubai last summer and it only got to about 108 F. The trip is definitely worth the heat, and everything there is cheaper because of the decline in tourists.
If you go to the UAE, you should spend a weekend in Oman. That’s a pretty cool place, too.
For something a little different, try the Faroe Islands in late July. The national festival on the 29th is something else…
Botswana if you can afford the wildly expensive safari fees (no hunting). July there
is not too hot (reverse the seasons).
