Who are some people that are so famous, you would expect everyone to know who they are?

Asked by poisonedantidote (21685points) May 16th, 2011

I need a list of super famous people so that I can research their lives to create a list of people for my nightly “who am I” quiz at the hotel.

The thing is, they can’t be the real super famous ones. No Michael Jackson or Queen of England. If one of the clues is “he had a monkey and used to wear a glove on one hand” or “is famous for waving and wearing a crown” the quiz wont last long.

I’m looking for people allong the lines of Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, and so on.

Thanks!

You are in the hotel business, correct? What countries are your clients from? It might be fun to pick someone famous from one of the countries that maybe never reached the news in other areas. For example, Cliff Richard is practically a household name in England, but I’d be willing to guess that most Americans have no idea who he is.
