Do you ever have delusions of grandeur while day dreaming?

Asked by Blackberry (34189points) May 19th, 2011

What are they? I admit, I have occasionally day dreamed about riding down a busy street in a drop-top, sky blue Lexus so everyone could see me.

I’m hesitant to say that I have delusions of grandeur, but I often visualize success, or a happy ending, or the best possible outcome. These imaginings are not so much related to me, but to a situation. But that convertible Lexus sounds lovely—maybe, just maybe.

I did when I was younger and more foolish. I don’t catch myself doing it much anymore.

Hell yes, always.

There’s this one I had from when I was eight years old: in the daydream, my elementary school caught fire. I had a friend on crutches. Her crutches were across the room, for whatever reason, so I carried her out of the burning school on my back. I was interviewed by local news channels, and they put up a plaque at my school in my honor.

I thought about this one so so much that I sometimes forget that it didn’t happen. I know every detail as if it were a real memory.

As for now, the grandeur is just the totally toned, tan, proportionally perfect body I don’t have :)

When I see a pinhead with a “bad mother fucker” for a dog acting all Mr. Big, I sometimes wish I had a fucking big tiger on a chain! “Yeah…..yeah, that’s right. You want summa dis bitch!?!” ;¬}

@sliceswiththings That’s awesome :)
@picante I daydream about happy endings too, like sitting at a dinner table with my imaginary family all laughing and having fun lol.
@ucme Lol. I’ve done something similar.

Damn straight, I have a rich and fulfilling fantasy life! I’d tell you about it, but frankly, it’s just silly. Suffice to say, I’m always at least 5’7”.

I often daydream that I owned a penthouse in one of the most expensive cities in the world, and in this particular daydream, I am always drinking red wine in a crystal glass, and my place looks like this somewhat anyway not exactly, but it wouldn’t be in LV

Most of my ’‘epic’’ fantasies revolve around me destroying the world. But sometimes I daydream about being this badass Viking chieftain, sacking villages, killing a buncha people and riding around on mastodons.

@Symbeline : Ooooh! Can I come along? I rpomose to be at least 5’7”! that’s gargantuan for me…

Not particularly. I’ve never been one to believe I could have things I really wanted, so day dreaming made me sad. I prefer not to think about it.

Fortunately some of the most important things that I wanted have happened.
