What's on your Rapture playlist?

Asked by SavoirFaire (28947points) May 21st, 2011

Apparently, #myraptureplaylist is trending high today on Twitter. Some songs are obvious, others are not. Some are on the nose, a few you have to think about. Listening suggestions for the day of reckoning?

The fact that they left you with such a short list is an apocalypse by itself. ;-)

I already said I listened to Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings…it seemed to fit.
I also thought of Blondie’s Rapture.
I like @Brian1946‘s Eve of Destruction suggestion too.

I think perhaps we should have just had a global party. Next time the end of the world is nigh, we really should organise ourselves better and have synchronous parties in each capital city to wish it on its way. Then get home fast before the brain eating festival gets going.

All He Wants is My Blood – Sons of Perdition
The Hand of the Almighty – John R. Butler (NSFW)
Get On Your Knees – Reverend Beat-Man (NSFW)
God’s Gonna Cut You Down – Johnny Cash
I Can’t Sit Down – Blanche
Jesus Gonna Drive Me Home – Shooter Jennings
Sinnerman – Sixteen Horsepower

and some Tool to set folks straight.

Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned – Tool
Eulogy – Tool

I wasn’t too worried about the rapture. Now Ragnarök, that’s another story.
