Is there any way to make your life feels more valuable?

Asked by Your_Majesty (8238points) May 25th, 2011

Don’t get me wrong,I know every life are precious. I just don’t feel that way. The same lifestyle, the same routines, job, habits, etc They’re all good and according to what I want. Life is getting bored each day and more if you think about it.

The death of family members and an escape from life-threatening situations make me feel my life is precious but as time passed the feeling has worn out and it needs to be recharged again. Death isn’t a choice and danger is something I’d rather avoid if I can but the outcome of both situations could give you enlightenment. Could you probably have a better idea?

Help the less fortunate.

Become a parent.

Find ways to serve others. It doesn’t have to be something big or really planned out, but service will help you realize that you do matter, that you can make a difference in the life of someone else.

My personal favourites are psychedelics and exotic/adventurous travel.

I am, as they say, an ‘experience junkie’.

My philosophy is,
I have one lifetime on Earth, so I’d better make the most of it, because there’s a LOT of things to see and do, and one lifetime isn’t long enough…

One way to recharge your spiritual batteries and to feel the value of life is to volunteer. Spend some time helping others. You will be amazed at what you get back from it.

I became a foster parent which I ended up adopting the girls placed with me because I fell head over heels in love with them and how can you not love a baby. I went in thinking the kids would leave and go home, but the first 2 placed with me stayed with me. They bring an extra light to my life!!

Sounds like your bored from too much success. I read the book the lost symbol. The main character suffers from the same predicament.

When one gets too much given to them at a young age they lose interest. Like a game where you know how to cheat at. The motivation disappears.
