What was the last big thing that caught you by surprise?

I’m still shocked that the rapture didn’t happen…

Last night on the interstate. All hell broke loose. 3 inch size hail falling on my car and visibility down to -0. Wind about 65 to 70 mph. I never expected the following:

Traveling about 45 mph. Southbound on I-65 N about 25 miles north of Nashville. Cautiously driving, when all of a sudden, I spot a tree in the right hand lane of the interstate. Not a branch, but a full-size tree. There are no trees anywhere around this location. I suddenly swerved to miss the tree, hoping I would not hydraplane my vehicle. Made it okay.

This tree must have come from another county or another state. Tornadoes were touching down everywhere.

The other night my fiancee texted me that he was going to do our laundry and make a fabulous steak dinner. Wow. I came home to find the bed made up nice, the room cleared of clutter, food in prep and when I opened one of my drawers to change clothes then there was a small box of my favorite chocolates. I’m not sure what prompted this but I sure liked it!

Being placed on federal disability and not working.

I was blown away this week when I found out that Oprah Winfrey is black.

I don’t surprise easily so the only “recent” thing was my mom dying. She had been sick with an illness that we thought was a cold on steroids but it turned out to be something much, much worse. That was a blindside.

My miter saw shit the bed in the middle of a cut yesterday. No warning it just died.I really didn’t need to have to replace something like that, not now…sigh.
