Thinking of trying anything new or creative? I just started my weekend with filet mignon and Lyonnaise Potatoes and for desert, flan. I need to out do that for memorial day. Figure some of you may have some creative ideas.

Memorial Day weekend is the time to break out the summer food. Tonight we had rib steak, corn on the cob, green beans and sliced tomatoes. Ice cream for dessert.
Hot dogs, cheese burgers, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans. Dessert will be hot fudge sundaes.
Nothing new and exotic.
@Tropical_Willie Isn’t this the perfect time to experiment? I mean, Thanksgiving and Christmas has its traditional foods and in a way, so does 4th of July. I figure Memorial and Labor days should be open for new things, since there really isn’t anything traditional set out for either of them. Don’t be scared. Go a little crazy.
May do Dutch oven cook later in the week, smoked sausage links and veggies including sweet potatoes and turnip.
Not surprisingly, bacon. I’m going camping, so there’ll be a lot of camp food. Hot dogs, soup, ‘smores. Then a barbecue when we get back on Monday, so lots of burgers, ribs, sausage, and other fun grilled stuff.
@Tropical_Willie Hey, for an icecream dessert, I do have a good one. Buy some sara lee pound cake and
lay one slice down, then add icecream
2nd slice add more ice cream. (flatten out the icecream)
3rd slice, add some cool whip and pore chocolate syrup on top.
Use whatever flavor icecream you want. I like vanilla with cherry icecream
@incendiary_dan Sounds great for camping. If your going fishing. Take some fish, just incase you catch nothing. Have a great time.
@Pandora I was hoping my new fishing reel I ordered would come in so I could fish a bit. Anyway, my partner doesn’t eat fish.
@Pandora
We lay down a layer of Lorna Doone shortbread cookies with ice cream and another layer of cookies. Top that with chocolate and whipped cream.
Hot buffalo wings baby, hot buffalo wings…
Travelling out of town to enjoy smoked ribs, chicken, and a fish fry, way to many side dishes and desserts. Not to mention the homemade ice-cream. I’m stuffed already, but happy:-)
@chyna I’m planning on bringing corn next weekend.
@mazingerz88 LOL. My husband would be there in a hot second. Hmm. Guess I could try that. I’m not a fan but he is.
@AmWiser, Love home made ice cream.
Shrimp and steak cabobs on the boat. Gonna grill them at the sand bar and reeeeeeeelaaaaxxxx!
I went to a Brazilian restaurant with my family for my mom’s birthday… They had every kind of meat you could imagine.
