So who do you think is a real cool dude or dudette out there and why?
He or she could be anybody real or fictionalized but this cool dude or dudette ( if this dudette word does not formally exist then I just coined it then ) is very likeable by most and inspiring and could be funny and great looking too. He could be anyone famous or if not then please explain what made this person “cool” in your view. Thank you!

You’re definitely not the coiner of the term dudette. It’s been around for at least twenty years.
Xena for being able to split spears thrown at her in half just by standing there, and having both split ends strike two bad guys behind her.
Gabrielle for inventing Santa Claus and charades.
And then that guy who’s all like, then we too, shall belong to the army of the dispossessed.
Sam Raimi for including Ye Olde English in time periods it didn’t actually exist in, and making fun of Christianity without being an asshole about it.
Captain Mal Reynolds gets my vote for coolest dude, fictional.
And Police Detective Kate Beckett from Castle gets coolest dudette, fictional.
@Symbeline Xena! Yes that is way cooler than Robin Hood splitting an arrow with an arrow! : )
Sam Raimi…are we talking Army of Darkness here?
Nah, just more Xena. XD
But Army of Darkness kicks just as much ass, aye indeed. :) I guess that Xena is way more Tapert than Raimi, but eh.
Definately Bruce Wayne and Batman… Because they’re totally not the same person…
Nipple Robin. He didn’t deserve it, meanies
Shakespeare
Oscar Wilde
Dorothy Parker
Robert Benchley
P G Wodehouse
Wicked wits and I’d be honored to buy any of them a round at the bar.
Our furbaby Jade for being such a little soldier, she was at the vets last monday to be speyed, had her microchip fitted, and her first innoculation, all on the same day and she was smiling and happy (if a little drowsy) when we picked her up, and bounced back to her cuddly self the very next day, and she even made great friends with the nurses at the vets too :-)
my hubby is the coolest dude ever for too many reasons to list :-)
Kurt Wallander (with all due respect to the amazing Kenneth Branagh, I’m talking about the Swedish incarnation played so wonderfully by Krister Henriksson) as my fictional cool dude. Any Wallander fans among my fellow jellies, if you haven’t seen Krister’s Kurt, you haven’t seen Kurt. Sublime….. just sublime.
My friend Chris fits this category very well. Extremely likeable, charming, and funny. He always make attempts to brighten your day, even if you’re a complete stranger. He is so dedicated to changing lives of people for the better, and making them think outside the box, that I have bestowed upon him a title. The Wind of Change
He’s one of my two best friends, and I know I could rely on him for anything.
That’s why he’s my cool dude.
Kinsey Millhone from Sue Grafton’s alphabet mystery novels is one cool dudette. She’s comfortable in her own skin, e.g., no make-up, trims her own hair, and has a wardrobe that consists primarily of jeans and turtlenecks. She is an introvert by nature, goes for no-nonsense, but is willing to bend the rules a bit in order to solve a mystery as a private detective.
The Big Lebowski, of course!
ohh and there is a guy here Randy, his comments always make me laugh so I’d put him in the cool dude category too :)
Carl Sagan
Catherine Keener

I think Jon Hamm is cool, mainly because he’s funny. I haven’t seen Bridesmaids, but I did see a bunch of outtakes from it, and he improvised the funniest stuff ever in a couple of scenes with Kristen Wiig.
Also, when he did that Lex Luthor thing, I cracked up all the way through it. Hard to believe he was a waiter for 12 years.
@Jude Indeed! Loved watching his shows and hearing that cool voice of his. He may be the only reason why I got interested in anything outside my childhood town. Pleasant surprise you came up with him! : )
@mazingerz88 My partner is big into the Cosmos and she turned me onto him. :) His voice is pretty damn calming.
@Jude Well then she is sure to recall that episode where he talked about how the ancients figured out to measure the Earth’s circumference by observing the shadows cast by the Sun upon this structure in the Library of Alexandria(?) I could be inaccurate a bit but I do liked that episode. Both of you might also enjoy the movie, “Agora”?
