Has anybody's smartphone ever quit receiving text messages?

I have the Thunderbolt on Verizon, and a few days ago I just stopped receving text messages. I can send them fine, make calls fine and everything else fine, except receiving messages. This has never happened before, and I don’t know what I’m missing communicationwise as a result. Has anybody else had this issue either on the same phone or a different one?

I intend to take it in to have Verizon check it out if I can’t resolve this myself or it resolves itself.
