Folks who've seen Midnight in Paris: Would you recommend it as a movie for me to see this afternoon?

Yes it was good. I for one is quite distinctly biased since the main character finds rain to be “romantic”. I do and not just in lovely cities like Paris. The cinematography was astute and perfectly suited the two time periods in the film. I also find the production design and art direction in one of the time periods expressive enough to draw my childish imagination in.

The dialogue was of course witty and funny as devised. The plot and characters were engaging and the execution was superbly fanciful, ( nothing deep here ) thus quite entertaining in my view. Sorry if this sounds like a review but that is how I enjoy a Woody Allen film. And oh yeah, the signature music score was there.

If you like Woody Allen, you will probably like the movie. It was visually lovely, a light sweet story, and a few good kernels of wisdom. Not hilarious, but certainly a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
