I’ve tried coiling it, laying it straight, garden hose hanger…how do you keep a garden hose from getting a kink?

We use a garden hose caddy. The hose pulls out easily, and wheel makes it simple to roll back up without causing kinks.
Sometimes a cheap hose is going to kink no matter what is done. The better thick wall ones tend to resist that better.
Big loops help. I coil mine flat on the ground in 3 foot circle.
One way to roll a hose is to do it in a figure “8” while laying on the ground. That way it will pay out usually kink free as apposed to just rolling it in a circle where it is bound to twist when each loop flops over. You will need to purposely put a twist in the hose as you go back and forth in the figure 8 so it will lie flat.

I would have loved to see a pic of the caddy you linked to but I refuse to register for a site just to view a pic they’re shielding behind their registry requirement screen.

@Buttonstc Interesting…that didn’t happen on this end. I don’t blame you. Just search for ‘Garden Hose Caddy’ on the internet. The one I have has two wheels on the back end, which makes it easy to transport it from the front yard to the back yard. It also came with a short hose to connect the existing hose to the outdoor faucet/tap. The rolling feature also helps to empty the water from the hose before storing it in the garage during winter.
Some hoses kink no matter what you do or use to store them. My best advice is to always buy construction grade hosing (I only need to replace these every 3–4yrs here in the Upper Midwest). I also use a garden center/greenhouse quality hose reel caddy…which I’ve had for years.
Next time, buy an expensive hose. It will not kink and it will last you five times longer than a cheap-0.
