As a result of this question I thought I would ask the collective;
How often do you notice the feet of others?
Are you turned off by feet? If so, why?
What lengths do you go to to maintain your feet?
If you don’t take care of your feet, do you wear sandals/flipflops anyway?
Do you have a foot fetish and insist on feet being in a certain condition?
Please take into consideration we are talking about the feet of grown-ups NOT babies, young children and adolesents who usually have that youthful skin that hasn’t been abused.
And Yes!! I do notice feet (a lot). I admire well groomed feet on men and women and IMO, it doesn’t take a whole lot to effort to have great looking feet.
What are your thoughts?

Mostly women, but I glance at men’s feet occasionally. I don’t do anything special to take care of my feet (I just wash them and lotion them), they still look great, but maybe it’s because I’m only 25. I also wanted to add that I wonder why some people hate a particular part of the body. I even think ears are beautiful, the whole body is a product of billions of years of refining. Look at your SO naked and tell me you don’t appreciate nature in all its glory lol.
I hate feet, everyone’s bloody feet, mine included. Ugly massive plates stuck on the end of our legs!
Yeah, me no likey.
I really don’t pay attention to feet.
I had an ex girlfriend who did and she loved my toes.
I notice feet, yes. I don’t really care what someone’s feet look like, but I do notice.
I do pedicure my feet (at home, not professionally) on a regular basis. I am constantly barefoot so I’m prone to dry skin on the soles of my feet, and they always require a bit of love as a result. I enjoy taking care of my feet, so I never really give it much thought. I like to get creative and polish my toenails, and I always clean up my cuticles and whatnot. My feet get exfoliated and lotioned daily, so there isn’t much to it.
Having said that, I’ve dated a handful of guys over the years with foot fetishes, and they were all impressed. I guess that counts for something. My husband doesn’t have a foot fetish, but right after our first date he sent me a text saying that he thought my toenail polish was pretty.
If she’s wearing high heels and her calves are shaped like this, you bet I notice her feet!
How often do you notice the feet of others? I usually notice the condition of someone’s toenails if they’re painted or not and how long their toes are. My toes are like fingers. They’re freaking long and kind of bony. So I’m always comparing. lol
Are you turned off by feet? If so, why? I don’t have a foot fetish, but I’m not turned off by them either unless they’re in horrible condition. I’m mostly indifferent.
What lengths do you go to maintain your feet? I’ll go for a quick pedicure once a month or so and the process really helps to keep the bottoms of my feet soft which I am now a little more conscious about because when I played sports in high school they would look and feel pretty rough.
If you don’t take care of your feet, do you wear sandals/flipflops anyway? I do not wear sandals or any shoe that exposes my feet if my toenails aren’t painted.
Do you have a foot fetish and insist on feet being in a certain condition? Nope, but I appreciate anyone who takes care of their feet. It really isn’t that difficult.
Ugh! Yes! I can’t help it I really hate feet so if someone has super ugly feet and they are not wearing shoes, or are wearing open-toed shoes, I feel disgusted being next to them! I really HATE feet!
@Blackberry, being 25, and male, I would assume your feet look pretty good if you have always worn shoes and socks. And yes, I think many parts of the human body are beautiful, not necessarily ears, I like lips, eyes, hands, and a few other parts I find works of wonder;-).
@ucme Seriously, they aren’t massive plates and they certainly aren’t all ugly.:D
@Vunessuh, toe rings should look lovely on your toes.
ANef_is_Enuf, I’m like you, I love taking care of my feet, but that once a month pedicure is awesome.
@AmWiser I used to wear them! I used to wear ankle bracelets, too, but I haven’t in a long time.
@AmWiser I’m too ticklish to have a professional pedi. The few times in my life that I’ve gone usually resulted in me squirming around in the chair being miserable. lol.
I do. Never thought about it, but I do. I notice if their “index” toes are longer than their other toes. Mine aren’t. FYI. Thought everyone should know this about me. I was once told I have Barbie feet. Thought everyone should know this too. About me. ‘Cause it’s important. See.
Not of people, but lately, of statues. I saw a Roman one today at the museum where the baby toe on the right foot was jacked, not because something was wrong with the statue (made in 355 BC), but because the sculptor caught his model’s imperfection. I thought it was fascinating.
@aprilsimnel that is cool!!
Me thinks we should all take pictures of our feet and post them!
@Dutchess_III what a lovely idea. My manicure/pedicure appointment is not until Thursday. tehehe
@aprilsimnel Wow 355 BC! Crooked toe…I’m impressed too.
@AmWiser Shoot. I have never had a pedicure in my life, and I spend half my life barefooted! But I think I still have good feet!
How often do you notice the feet of others? Rarely. I can only think of five times when I have noticed the appearance of another person’s feet or considered it. One of those was based upon a post made on Fluther by someone claiming to have perfectly shaped feet and posting an image. Another was when the siblings and I sat on a sofa and put our bare feet up on a coffee table and discussed the differences and similarities. Despite the teasing over the years, it appears by our feet similarities that we are related.
Are you turned off by feet? If so, why? No But they hold no attraction either.
What lengths do you go to maintain your feet? I refuse to buy a pair of shoes that do not fit properly. I no longer wear high heels, although it hasn’t been ruled out completely. Pedicures were given up a couple of years ago, and their maintenance is now addressed in the bathroom. I miss the leg massage and the vibrating chair, but it was a small sacrifice for the cost.
If you don’t take care of your feet, do you wear sandals/flipflops anyway? No. I’ve heard the judgement of co-workers for such a silly thing as low feet maintenance about others. Call it peer pressure.
Do you have a foot fetish and insist on feet being in a certain condition? No foot fetish. My SO and I will let each other know if toenails are a bit too long.
I guess I notice feet with tattoos on them. I don’t go to any length to ‘maintain my feet’. Every once in awhile, I’ll cut my toenails.
Same here. Wow. We agree! That’s like, 3, isn’t it? : )
I do notice feet and though I have no fetish with them, I like to see they are well groomed regardless of being attractive in shape or not. If I see someone, especially men take care of their feet then I tend to think they take care of other details too.
Having clean and non smelly feet touch me or be in my bed is super important. I get turned off by people who neglect the basics of their feet, most definitely. Your feet can have bunions and crooked toes but I want to see clipped clean nails and soft skin, even wrinkled skin can be kept soft and non calloused.
I totally notice people’s feet. Maybe it’s because I’m from California and in my youth, I saw millions of bare feet at the beach. Most good, but a few were hideous and it scarred me for life.
I try to take care of my feet, by keeping them clean, nails trimmed and filed and skin smooth and free from icky things like flaking, flea bites, scabs, blisters, warts, dried cracking heels and callouses. But the worst thing is to see gross, yellowed, thick, untrimmed toenails with dirt or fungus underneath them.
It’s not that difficult to wash your feet everyday, use an exfolliant once a week and trim and file your nails once a month.
If you have gross feet, please don’t share the visuals (and possible corresponding scents) with the rest of us.
I don’t really notice other people’s feet very much. I’m not turned off by feet, unless they’re in a really bad condition or something. I like to take care of my own feet, lotion them regularly, but other than that I don’t really do much.
I’ve never had a pedicure in my life and don’t think my feet are ugly at all. I don’t wear sandals and flip flops all that much because I don’t like to show my feet… I’m pretty concious of them even though I know they’re not bad looking… there’s also the factor of living in a cold country, giving me less chance of wearing them.
I don’t have a foot fetish but I would really want people to take care of their feet.
If feet are on show then I usually notice them. I’m not a fan of feet which is why I find flip-flops to be quite a turn off for me. I don’t go to great lengths to cdare for my feet but I make sure they are clean and the nails are neatly trimmed (long toe nails gross me out!). I feel self concious in foot wear that show my feet and I have one pair of gorgeous greek style sandals which I don’t wear much because of this.
@Neizvestnaya I can not STAND dirty feet in bed! From the time I was a kid. I’d try to ignore it…but I’d be up washing them before I could go to bed.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir It’s not hard to count to three and even remember it!
