How can I adjust brightness on my USB Video Device?

Asked by Your_Majesty (8238points) June 8th, 2011

I really can’t find any ways to do that. The pictures I took from my USB Video Device were all dark and dull even though I shot them in a bright room.

The video device should have some software to allow configuration of brightness and contrast I would hope.
Can you provide a device model and type to help a bit more?

@blueiiznh I know this sounds stupid but I don’t know the model and type of my USB Video Device. Is there any way to check this thing?

I am unsure what OS you are running.
If windows, get into device manager
Start | Control Panel | System | Hardware Tab | Device Manager
Expand Imaging Device

Also, is there software you run on your PC to view, take pictures with this device?

I’m using Windows XP. here what it said:
(General Tab)
Device Tab: Imaging Devices
Manufacturer: Microsoft
(Driver Tab)
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Version: 5.1.2600.2180
I don’t think I have such software in my laptop.
