I am 15. What are the chances I may become pregnant?
Ok, I got my period on the fourth of June. The last time I got my period was 22 days ago. On June 4th until June 7th, I had unprotected sexual intercourse with my boyfriend, with him coming inside. My period suddenly ended on the 7th. Making it only lasting 3 days. Now, I know sperm can live in my system for quite a while. So, is there a chance I can become pregnant? Should I take a pregnancy test in 2–3 weeks, or wait longer, or shorter? What do you think the chances are? Please help me. Any input would be fantastic ! Thank so much ~!

If you can get it, take the morning after pill – I know it’s OTC for everyone over 15, but I don’t know if you definitely need a prescription if you’re under, or if that’s state by state – or if your doctor has to tell your parents, or if you can make an appointment for some dummy reason and have them help you in confidence, although maybe there are issues getting it from the pharmacy (do you have to be 18 to sign all the forms at the pharmacy?). That’s something Planned Parenthood can help you with if you can get to them. If you can’t, wait a month. If you don’t get your period again, take a home pregnancy test.
Very unlikely you are pregnant, almost impossible.
@gailcalled What’s the deal? Should we flag the question?

I would say very unlikely, too. Sperm don’t live all that long. If you don’t have a period by mid July, I’d get a test.
@faye Sperm live up to 5 days inside a person’s body.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir I was thinking 3–4 so I was close. Now, if she doesn’t ovulate for 7 days after her period, she’s safe. Reckless, tho.
If you are 15 and have unprotected sex, yes you can become pregnant. Just ask my SIL.
Take a pregnancy test (a $2 test from Dollar General confirmed my last pregnancy) or make an appointment with Planned Parenthood.
Use a condom next time, please.
Yes, if you had unprotected sex, there is a chance you could become pregnant. You could have also contracted a STD. If you continue to have unprotected sex, your odds of becoming pregnant or getting an STD will increase.
Go to your local Planned Parenthood and they can help you with birth control options/STD testing.
Am I the only one having AB flashbacks here?
I say it is unlikely based on the timing but not impossible so I would play it safe and take a pregnancy test in 3–4 weeks; waiting only 2 weeks may result in a false negative.
However, while this particular month may not have resulted in a pregnancy, from the sounds of it, it is almost a statistical certainty that you will get knocked up by Christmas unless you smarten up and start using some protection. I knew this stuff when I was half your age, and I hate to think that someone less educated than a third-grader might reproduce!

So to be clear, you had sex while you were menstruating? Your period ended on the third day you were having sex?
Your age is irrelevant. There are only four questions that matter:
1) Are you female?
2) Are you post-pubescent?
3) Are you pre-menapausal?
4) Have you had sex?
If you answer yes to all four, yes, you could be pregnant. As for “how likely?” why would that matter? Just go to the store, get a test, and take it. Then you’ll know for sure.
