What else could this be if not a UTI?

so, as you may have gathered, I am trying to get pregnant.
Well my partner and I are.
About 2 days ago I developed what I believe to be a UTI, however it feels different, I have not gone to the doctor yet, I have had UTI’s for years, so I know the pain and the burning etc etc, I had what I thought was thrush but that is gone and now this weird feeling at the end of my pee, sorry for the information.
I have an urgency to go but I actually need to go, it’s not small amounts, and then at the very end it kinda stings, or more a sensation than a sting, and then I’ll need to go again 10 minutes later, but not a small amount, it’s weird, I am ovulating however it’s way to early for this to be my body reacting to being pregnant and because we are trying any small thing to me is me having conceived!
Any ideas?
Can you have small UTI’s?
Confused and it’s kinda annoying.
Thanks!

Assuming it’s not an STD, it sounds like a uti. It’s possible that it’s just starting so it doesn’t feel as intense as you’re used to. I’m not a doctor. This is just a guess. I would call the doctor tomorrow. Pee in a cup for them and I’m sure they’ll have a much better answer for you than any of us will.
That really sounds like a UTI. Irritation at the end of urination is classic. Actually having a lot of urine is probably just a function of you keeping yourself well hydrated, so it is difficult to perceive whether your urgency is from a full bladder or an infection. Your pain probably is not severe because you are well hydrated.
Sounds like you didn’t fully clear up your last UTI and its on its way back, call your dr and have them culture your urine you may need a stronger antibiotic.
I have not had a UTI for about 2 years, so I hope the last one was cleared up!
Annoying things, Dr it is, it’s not bad though, would you guys wait to see if it went away by itself?
My last one did or go and get antibiotics?
I would get the antibiotics personally. Make sure you mention you are trying to get pregnant so you get a safe one.
@tan235 Since a UTI utimatly killed my grandmother I don’t mess around, I just go get the antibiotics. Its well worth my life.
Sometimes they go away by themselves, but I think more often then not, untreated UTIs turn into kidney infections, which can be fatal. So going to see your doctor and taking the antibiotics seems like a small price to pay for getting to live.
@creative1 how did your grandma die from a UTI?
sorry if this is an insensitive question but it seems very informative to know about – did it become a kidney infection?
If a UTI spread to your kidneys that would really be painful right?
Your body must tell you about that?
Im sorry to hear that @creative1
My Grandmother was sick for a very long time she had open heart surgery and due to complications was stuck on life support from Feburary until the begining of June. My family started researching having her moved when doctors were saying she would never be able to be removed from life support and found a wonderful place that had great success in having patients wein from life support when doctors didn’t think they would ever be able to. She was successful in doing so in the begining of June and we got to finally talk to her but she developed a UTI and never told anyone about it, it went to her kidney and utimately killed her when she was due to leave he facility with in only 2 weeks. The UTI traveled fast due to the type of infection it was so because she didn’t complain and how quickly it moved it killed her. So rather than wait at the first sign of a UTI, I call my DR go for the culture and get the antibiotics you don’t know how quickly the infection will move once you get it so you don’t know how much time you have time to play if you don’t go get checked and the way I look at it my life is worth taking the antibiotics for the UTI. Why wait and see if it will kill me, I don’t want to be a matar for that.
I just re-read your question again @tan235 You do realize that a UTI is an infection, when it gets into your kidneys or bladder it can then get into your bloodstream and kill you…. Once in your kidneys and bladder you don’t get the burning sensations you get with the UTI
Make sure you pee after sex if you are prone to UTI’s.. I know you want to get pregnant, but don’t wait too long afterwards. Put your feet up in the air for 20 minutes and then go pee.
Given your symptoms, my guess would be an UTI. Pain doesn’t always present as a symptom I generally don’t have pain, just burning and “needing” to go frequently I’d definitely see a doctor to get it cleared up.
hey guys, yeah I know a UTI is an infection I just thought if it went to your kidneys you’d know about it, re : fever, sore back etc etc, or so I’ve heard, that’s an amazing story about your grandmother @creative1 – incredible that they were able to get her off life support – wow.
sorry to hear about the rest of the story,
i’m going into my doctors now in 5 mintues.. so thanks for your stories and answers everyone!
will update, as no one on here updates and would be nice to know to what the outcome of some things are… just in case one is interested.
so I went to the doctor and nothing came up, no white cells, protein etc etc, except trace amounts which we all know what that could be, she said it’s definitely not a urine infection….so that’s great and bad as now i have no idea what it is…. anyway again thanks for your comments everyone x
trace amounts of protein sorry… not white blood cells.
Did she bother to do a culture?
Well, I guess you will gve it a few days and see what happens.
Could it be a pulled muscle of some sort?
yeah I asked her to do a culture… however today seems much better, I drank though 2 litres of cranberry juice and had cystex so probably was but i cleaned it out?
Anyway… our bodies…. incredible things.
Good to hear you’re feeling better
