Should this be reported or is this just bad business and customer service?
I have paid over $800.00 in garbage collection services for the last 3 years. Of the 15 payments due, I have been late 7 times. It is billed every two months. Last Tuesday morning they did not pick up my trash. I called them on Wednesday. They said I was overdue and they have changed their policy and stopped my service. I was 8 days late.
They did not even give me a call or any warning.
What gets me is that I have always paid. If they were to have a late fee I would have paid that also. Anyway, now I will have 2 weeks of garbage and yes I have changed carriers.
If this was any other bill, I would have gotten a coutesy call.
What do you think of this bad business practice? Yes, I was late on my bill.

I think they carried you until they had enough, half the time late is not a good record. I was told a long time ago DON’T mess with trash collectors. I think the guy’s name was Guido.
Yup, the “family” ran a couple in my neighborhood.
This is so unrelated to Guido….I think? It’s not like I took out a loan from a loan shark!
But you have by not paying on time, “taken a loan” from the trash collector. Pay on time in the future, the trash collectors do talk to one another.
Trash collectors are a dime a dozen and all my neighbors are going to change to my new service so it will be their loss!
Just don’t piss them off, you may find 3 yards of gravel or trash in your drive way.
It’s quite possible they DID send notice, with your bill and you missed it. I sure don’t peruse my regular bills carefully unless they seem way out of wack.

You could report it to the better business bureau. It doesn’t sound like fraud or breaking a contract to me.
It could well be bad business and customer relations, and by switching to a competitor, you are doing the best thing you can to send a message.
Now where do you live that you have so much competition for trash collection? Where I live it’s a government monopoly.
@wundayatta Minnesota. There are a dozen for sure and they are all in competion all the time! My neighbors all have different ones and I live in a townhome development where you chose your own service.
The city charges me for my water, sewage and trash on one bill. The bill has doubled in the 10 years I’ve been at this address. I hate them with a passion.

Every one wants prompt service. Your demand it of them and they have a right to expect it from you. You probably wouldn’t like it if they were a few days late picking up your garbage half the time. You should provide the same level of service, you demand from them.

I am so undemanding of them and they do not even care if my garbage can lands in the neighbors yard after they collect it. They charge 30 dollars a month and I have faithfully paid them, They did not care that I immediately stopped the service. They could have had better customer service and at least notified me of their new policy of not collecting the garbage if payment wasnt right on time. I have the money and sometimes paid ahead! Good Riddens to them.
You are complaining because someone didn’t call to tell you you had not paid your bill which you already knew. I see no reason to babysit customers. You know the bill comes around every 14 days—be ready for it. Guys like you get no pity from me.

I have brain trama and have lost my ability to remember short and long term. It takes me all day to figure out and pay my monthly bills. This garbage bill is accidentally not paid cause it comes every 2 months and sometimes I pay ahead and get super confused. So, no, I am not a perfect timely person any longer!
@isthatthetruth I didn’t say you are male. It makes no difference. Whine whine whine. Maybe you can have a family member handle your affairs for you. If not, petition probate court for assignment of a conservator to handle things for you. Your “this is the best I can do” doesn’t do it. You manage to play online just fine.
