This is my last night in Philly. And I need to get an authentic cheesesteak. If it helps, I am currently around the Drexel/UPenn Campus Area.

Geno’s isn’t that great.
Pat’s isn’t that great.
Jim’s on South Street is the for real best cheesesteak.
Tony Luke’s is pretty good too.
Right, I’m very very hungry now.
…though tony lukes is prolly the furthest from drexel, haha
tony lukes. can’t beat the stopping in the middle of the street and running through traffic for a sandwich.
Geno’s, Pat’s & Jim’s are for tourists. Tony Luke’s is good. The best in Philly is John’s on Front & Snyder.
john’s or tony luke’s are good. both are in south Philly. avoid pat’s or geno’s.
Definitely Jim’s. Just make sure you know what to order when you get to the front of the line. Nothing announces tourist more than standing in a 20 minute line only to be having a long winded discussion with the cook when you order. Get one steak with whiz and onions for sure, then order another one for dessert.
Haha you asked me this last night I still can’t think of the place that was mentioned on the Colbair Report. Sorry!
Manna from heaven was a Philly Cheesesteak. A whole that is truly greater than the sum of its parts. I have NEVER had a good one elsewhere and get one whenever I go back. I am going in August and now I can’t wait. I like a mushroom cheesesteak.
Jim’s on south is terrible. Tony Luke’s FTW
Can’t go wrong with pat’s, geno’s or tony luke’s…anyone who says that all these places are for tourist are just philly people who want to try to sound cool like they know the city better than anyone else.
Nah I don’t think so. They just not that good. They’re not terrible but they’re just not GREAT like people say they are. They are absolutely tourist places.
well whatever place you chose i hope you got cheese wiz.
