Are the lyrics in the song "Over and Underneith" from the Bible?

Asked by leopardgecko123 (777points) June 17th, 2011 from iPhone

Tenth Avenue North’s song “Over and Underneith” has got me thinking. I went to a website with the lyrics and the part “My love is over, it’s underneith…..... I’ll never forsake you. My love never ends. It never ends.” is in quote marks and is spoken by God. So are these particular lyrics from the bible? Or did the band just make them up based off of the bible? If so please tell what the verses are!!

I’m no biblical scholar but I checked out the lyrics and I don’t see anything I recognize from any translation of any bible I’ve ever seen. And are the lyrics based on the bible? Again, not that I can tell, just based on rather general Christian beliefs about god and man’s relationship with god. But I am neither a Christian or a biblical scholar but that’s what it looks like to me.

Joshua 1:5 (New International Version)
No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails

it’s bits and pieces of different verses, probably meaningful to whoever wrote the song,

@lillycoyote Yea, I think it’s one of those strange new translations that are springing up these days,

@broughtlow it’s a good translation

It’s a possibility, and honestly I’ve never heard the song, but I know that the word “forsake”, which tends to be associated with the lord’s love, can also be used outside of biblical context.
