This should be in Meta, and It stands for Not Safe For Work
Crap someone just beat me to it XD
“Not Safe (or Suitable) for Work”. It is a warning that if you are at work, you may not want to click on the site/post and read the details in case someone walks into the office and notices what is on the computer screen. It is also a warning for those at home. For example, if one has a child in the house.
@XOIIO I recently learned that ‘NSFW’ is a generic internet slang, so it is fine in the General section.

It is an acronym that says the question more so than the answers has some sort risqué or racy content in it that might offend some or violate office policy. It has very little use overall.

NSFW – Not suitable for work? ;)
I used to think that it meant not safe for women so thanks for asking this question.

Also a warning for those at home who don’t want their little children seeing anything they don’t need to (like @Pied_Pfeffer said) and a warning for those at the library too.
Not suitable for women to read? Too risque?
Now smells freaking wonderful.
Never Stop Fornicating, Women.
