How do I shrink a pre-shrunk T-shirt with a decal on it?

I have this T-shirt and it’s a little big. I’m supposed to wear it the whole week and im working with kids so they prefer your Tee to be clean and not tied up to shorten or tighten it. It also has a decal on it and I do not want that to come off or become crackle looking.It also says it’s pre-shrunk but i don’t believe anything is really pre-shrunk. Please give me some good advice.

If you put it through a super hot laundry load and then put it through the dryer on high a couple of times it should shrink a little.
@athenasgriffen just out of curiosity how much is a little
I don’t think you can, you might just have to wear it big.
ahh im so not wearing it big
Because…?
If this is something of a work uniform, you’re just going to have to live with the fact that businesses tend to not go out of their way to make sure everyone looks fashionable. If it’s a hazard – like if you were working with power tools – you could talk to the manager about making sure you meet safety requirements. But otherwise, I’m afraid your SOL.
i hate wearing it big
plus we have to wear “appropriate shorts” so itll make em look worse
@Tay122 By a little, I mean maybe an inch or two.
If it is still too big, wear it with a belt at the waist.
thanks athenasgriffen for the advice
I agree with @MyNewtBoobs. If you are required to wear it the whole week, the only choices seem to be with either exchanging it for a smaller size (including someone else) or wear it over another shirt and not tucked in. If the shirt is already pre-shrunk, you can attempt to shrink it as much as you want, but it isn’t likely to work, unless you have access to some magical Willy Wonka machine.
You can try to wash it in hot water and then dry it on high heat to try to shrink it. It may shrink slightly, but pre-shrunk usually means it will not shrink further.
Do you have access to a sewing machine? take in the side seams a bit.
@Pied_Pfeffer and @chyna :
Pre-shrunk is not real. There is no such thing as a Pre- Shrunk shirt. Even though the tag says so, T-shirts are always able to be shrunk at least a tiny bit more. Thanks anyways though.
@BarnacleBill
Thanks for the advice but i don’t really need to anymore.
@Tay122 If preshrunk is a figment of the imagination and textile industry, can you please tell that to a few of my large t-shirts?
@Pied_Pfeffer
They may shrink it a tiny bit. They shrink it at the amount that it’s legal to write pre-shrunk on it. Otherwise yes it will shrink a little. I did it and it worked.
@Tay122 Okay, so they may shrink a little. Or maybe they just stretch out after being worn. Either way, it doesn’t help you with the situation.
Maybe this is incorrect, but it sounds as if you are looking for a way to make the assigned shirt size smaller without damaging the decal. We have provided ways in order to do so.
So please enlighten us, and I mean this with all sincerity. How did you resolve the situation?
Well I did what people said I should. Hot washer, hot dryer, and turn it insideout. It shrunk a little, more like it shrunk enough to wear i could trade it with my friend and now I have a size small that is still to big so I plan on doing the same with this shirt.
@Tay122 Thanks so much for posting what ended up working for you. Personally, it irritates me that groups who plan on providing clothing do not order a variety of sizes. One size does not fit all.
