How do you put on eye shadow and what color would be good for me?

Asked by 15barcam (759points) June 19th, 2011

My eyes are a greyish blue, (depending on what I wear). To be very honest, every time I try to put on eye shadow, I look like a complete freak, mainly because I can’t figure out how to put it on correctly or where exactly to put it on! HELP!

What is your skin tone?
Your hair color?

I can’t recommend anything until I know that.

Go to a makeup counter at a department store and let them help you. They will give you a free makeover which is really nothing more than putting their make-up on you. I have blue eyes and have always worn various shades of brown.

An example would be here. The two colors:

Brown (in the photo: Woodwinked by Mac)

This one is called Amber Lights (by Mac)

These two are the ones that I would use.

My eyes are slate blue and these two go quite well.

Stick with shades of brown for a more natural look. The suggestion to go to a makeup counter ina deoartment store is a really good one. Try two different ones. If you are young try maybe clinique and lancome.

My daughter loved Clinique. I’ve always been an Estee Lauder girl. But Clinique is for younger faces. I just bought my first Lancome foundation and love, love, love it. It feels like silk.
