Why does fluther allow multiple accounts?

I suppose that people can just get around a one-account limit if they wanted to. But I’m just curious – is there a reason Fluther allows it?
I’m new to Fluther, and just realized that two people I see on here frequently are the same person.

It doesn’t really cause any harm most of the time, so there’s not really a reason to forbid it.
A lot of people use alternate accounts to ask questions they otherwise wouldn’t want to associate with their more well-known profile, for various reasons, and I think that is a nice feature of Fluther that people are able to do that.
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard – That makes sense. It can be used in the way some sites have the “anonymous” feature.
The two user accounts that I just realized were the same person are quite active, however. It just caught me off guard.
I tried to reply to your message but I get an error. Matt is from Germany and I am from Israel. He’s very smart and eloquent – I am the opposite. I have read his book, like it, and try to help promote it. Been here for many years now – and if you spend a little more time – you’ll see how very different we are.ZEN OUT.
And yet, Captain, considering your communicator, one could mistake you for the sammich guy, as well..
I lurve the little guy and keep him close to my heart is all. It was a gift from Jeruba, no less.
@JilltheTooth Like I said – I can’t answer to messages. I also can’t edit my responses here. I get this:

Well, that’s awkward! And I thought I was special…
Sometimes it’s nice to be anonymous when asking a question. As long as you don’t use the other account to give yourself more lurve no one minds.
I love that @zen is forbidden.
What @Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard said. Anybody who creates a second account with the intent to harm or cheat are dealt with, I’ve seen it happen. So it’s all good, homeslice.
@chyna It’s a mystery – like making the @ plus my nickname.
What IS up widdat, dang?
@zen
IT JUST WON’T WORK.
I am at one with fluther.
Whoa dude…I just thought of something fucked up. About how you always change your username. It’s like, in Buddhism, they believe that you spend a great part of your physical existence reincarnating into different beings until you reach enlightenment…like you’re always doing with your usernames. Now that your username is forbidden, (since it won’t appear on here like the rest of us, this symbolizes greater heights) it means you’re through with the physical envelopes, and as you just said, have reached enlightenment! Through Fluther form.
’‘blinks’’ Right?
Right.
Psst. I’ll have what she’s having.
It totally fits! It cannot be denied. :D
Don’t give the young, stupid hormonal thing any ideas.
I see why they would, I would not have the energy nor desire for it. I never noticed it either, so i guess i might be surprised.
