A not well known song of a favorite band of yours?

Asked by rebbel (35553points) June 22nd, 2011

Thought it would be a good idea to ask not for big hits from favorite artists, but instead for an not so well known song.
Which song that was never published as a single of one of your favorites bands/singers would you like to recommend to me/us?

My choice: Wild Is The Wind by David Bowie

@marinelife It was between Bowie and Queen, my choice.
Queen i play so much at home that almost all their songs sound like hits to me :-)

Edit to add: I will listen to all of your submissions obviously.
If possible, link your songs, if you please. Thanks!

Two versions of the same song, “The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing”.

The original version by Frank Zappa, and the acapella version by The Persuasions.

Blue Red & Gray by The Who. Greatest song of theirs and no one’s ever heard it.

Hey Bulldog by The Beatles, perhaps their most obscure song. I don’t think I have ever heard it on the radio, just when i play it at home.

@zenvelo Nice beat…catchy melody…great pick!

Very few of my favourite bands are well known, so I can pick almost anything from my collection. Today I’ll go with one of my favourite songs ever, Ghost Love Score by Nightwish.

I thought this was a pretty famous song but a majority of people I know have not heard it. D’yer mak’er by Led Zeppelin.
Love love love

@FireMadeFlesh Holy crap. I was just listening to that song 2 minutes before I read your question!

TexasDude's avatar

@sarahhhhh that’s my favorite Led Zeppelin song and it always pisses off hardcore Led Zeppelin fans when they find that out for some reason.

Plucky's avatar

@sarahhhhh I thought it was famous too. I love that song (one of their best for sure).

@KatetheGreat Then you must have amazing taste in music!

Jellie's avatar

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Tell me about it. Zeppelin fans are shocked when I say Stairway to Heaven is not in my top 5 favourite songs.

KateTheGreat's avatar

@FireMadeFlesh I like to think so. What’s even cooler is that I can sing just like her. I’ve done a few Nightwish covers along with some of her solo work. Opera metal is the best.

FireMadeFlesh's avatar

@KatetheGreat That is impressive! Any chance you could post a link to some of your work?

KateTheGreat's avatar

@KatetheGreat I’m honestly working on it at the moment. People around here have been asking that for a long time, but as of now I lack the proper recording devices and such. Giving that we’re not allowed to tape in the opera house, I lack a lot of my work.

FireMadeFlesh's avatar

@KatetheGreat Shame. It’d be nice, even if it was only for you to keep as a personal record.
