Why do I have pain in my ear lobe?

Asked by taytaysafreak (244points) June 22nd, 2011

Ever since I was little, I would always get this random shooting pain…in my ear lobe. The skin feels normal, like I can touch my ear and it seems like it’s all internal. Sometimes I can feel it in the triangular cartilage part…the tragus, I think? It feels like a nerve thing but I’m wondering if anyone else has it. It’s extremely annoying and pretty painful. Sometimes I have to stop moving because it feels like a toothache in my ear. Strange, I know.

Oh, and I do have piercings in my ears but I’ve experienced this long before I’ve had any. It hasn’t gotten worse since.

I have this. I’ve never asked a doctor about it. Nothing ever comes of mine, though the zap of pain can be pretty bad. I guess I assumed it was just my body fixing some burple of air or some such. There are so many sinuses.

Your alien implant has come loose.

If it doensn’t increase in frequency or magnitude, I’d recommend ignoring it. I’ve had that all my life and I am 67 now. It’s never gotten worse. It never gave me any serious trouble. It’s just annoying when it come. If it starts getting more frequent or intense, then by all means ask your GP about it and he may want to run some tests or refer you to a specialist just to be sure it’s nothing to be concerned with. Hope all turns out well.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s a weird pain. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does, it’s awfully annoying.

Oh crap. I figured it was the implant.
