Why can't I access (ping) my public IP from within my private network?

I have Comcast (business) with a block of public IP addresses.
There’s two servers, A and B, both of which are NATed to 2 of the 5 IP addresses.
I can ping the private address from A to B, but I can’t ping the public address from A to B. What is wrong?

hold windows key+r then type cmd press enter
Then type ipconfig it should show up.
Or are you wondering how to change it?
? (thanks but i know how to find my ip address). ipconfig wouldn’t show the other servers private ip address, nor it’s public. Did you read my details. I can’t ping the OTHER servers public ip, but I can the private. Is this normal?
(btw, there linux servers) It’s my uncles network, and he wants this damned feature (although I don’t see the purpose)
it is normal if your connected to another router thats wired to the linux modem, I host Steam servers through my modem, which allows my ip to reach the public ip.(google steam if you have not heard of it =)) You can also configure your router by putting its ip in your browsers URL
