What could be wrong with my friend?
She has severe stomach pain, so bad that it slows down her breathing. She says her throat is cold, like she drank ice water for a full hour. She has excessive appetite one day and then doesn’t feel like eating anything the next.

Yes take her to the ER… or at the least a doctors appointment
WebMD’s symptom checker is a handy tool. It is NOT a replacement for a proper diagnosis.
A 24-hour minor emergency clinic could probably help you with an initial diagnosis and is typically quicker and cheaper than an emergency room at a hospital. Usually you can walk in and be seen relatively quickly, regardless of what you’re there for. A hospital emergency room has to prioritize emergency situations before general care and a typical visit is 4–6 hours.
With or without insurance, the clinic will usually be a fraction of the cost of going to an emergency room as well.
I hope your friend is already getting care, but thought I’d mention it for future reference.
At 6 months? Go to the doctors.
She needs a medical diagnosis and possibly some tests. It sounds like it could be a thyroid or other endocrine imbalance.
