Do you feel there are more commercials on tv today than in the past?

I once counted ten commercials in one sitting. Sometimes they’d play the exact same commercial back to back.
I’m surprised they don’t have an all commercial channel, 24/7.

I remember a lot of commercials when I watched the tube as a kid, but it was slightly tolerable. There does seem to be way more now. Maybe I’m wrong, gave up cable television a long while back.
Yes, there are, and it is not just my feeling. The industry has changed the rules for commercial interruptions to add more.
Yes there are more commercials. The TV shows I grew up watching have had scenes cut out when re-broadcast today.
Yes. There are way more products available than there used to be. There’s also much more variety of the same product. It’s all about the money.
Yes, and they last longer too.
Definitely. And most of them are either loud, dumb, or both. All are annoying, especially when there’s a good show on and there are about 5 minutes of commercials one after the other until the next show scene. I usually turn the channel with the remote when the commercials come on, and flip back to what I was watching later.
What’s even more annoying is when commercial makers use a “good song” to promote its dumb product, like using a classic “oldie” to advertise beer or cell phones. They end up marring a great song with a bad commercial.
@MRSHINYSHOES Ugh, I detest loud commercials. Do they not realize we’re more likely to mute it than tune into it?
Yes. Only one remedy: limit exposure to mind-numbing commercials touting products and services we don’t really need
@Plucky Well, they say that producers actually make commercials loud and irritating, so that it’s supposed to make you remember their product. That’s a laugh——the annoyance makes me try to forget them as soon as possible.
