Plenty of jobs, yes. Take a look at this and all the subfields:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioengineering
Bioprocess Engineering: Bioprocess Design, Biocatalysis, Bioseparation, Bioinformatics, Bioenergy – Genetic Engineering: Synthetic Biology, Horizontal gene transfer – Cellular Engineering: Cell Engineering, Tissue Culture Engineering, Metabolic engineering – Biomedical Engineering: Biomedical technology, Biomedical Diagnostics, Biomedical Therapy, Biomechanics, Biomaterials. Biomimetics.
My favorite is this

Google pours millions into this.

I don’t think that’s spam, it’s useful
Biomedical engineering is forecast to be one of the fastest growing engineering disciplines in the next 20 years. It crosses over into nanotech, which I personally think is fascinating. There will be plenty of jobs in this field. Go for it if it interests you and you should have a satisfying career.
[mod says] It was, indeed, spam.
why? It contained useful info about the biomedical field, as well as salary and job prospect info. I get that it was for a college program, but the info was inline with other stuff I’ve seen about that field. I’m not asking to be confrontational, I’m asking to understand how you’re able to define that as spam. PM me if it’s hosing the thread.
The give away is a new member joining specifically to give an answer linking to a site. I wouldn’t be surprised if the OP was the same person and asked the question so they could plug their site. Plus the site looked like it’s been knocked up as quickly as possible just as a place holder for some advertising
Both the asker and the answerer are brand new members, are probably the same person, and based in India… in an area known as a hot bed of spammers. I’m leaving the question up because it is informative and interesting, though!
[Mod says] We now return to our regularly scheduled program. ;)
