Anyone familiar with Glouster, Va area?

Asked by syz (36034points) April 29th, 2008

I would like to give my mother a gift certificate for a B&B somewhere near her grandchildren (who live in Glouster, which seems to be near Newport News). Are there any nice “touristy” areas near by?

The Inn at Warner Hall is historic and beautiful and is right in Gloucester. http://www.bbonline.com/va/warnerhall/index.html. Gloucester is in the Chesapeake Bay region, and the entire area is gorgeous. Almost anybody would enjoy a drive, maybe to Gloucester Point Beach Park. There are the ruins of the 18th century Rosewell Plantation that can be toured (only $4.00 admission). If you like antiquing, there are lots of places to shop too.
