Need help finding an antique Oriental rug online. Game?

Asked by Jude (32204points) July 12th, 2011

The size: 4×6 or 5×7.

Links would be appreciated. No more than $250. Used is fine. Colors in my room (neutral walls), brown leather sofa, orange chair, black and white photos and prints, and this.

Ready, set, GO!

Thanks!!

This would look good with your colors.

@Jude A little confused here. Are you interested in an actual antique oriental rug? Because… you say in the details “Used is fine.” I would think antique would be by definition “used.”

LOL, my brain today. Antique is what I meant.

I doubt you’ll find an ANTIQUE oriental rug for that price, unless it was so far gone it was just a rag. Look at the prices on these antique rugs. http://www.mprugs.com/medium-persian-rugs.htm

There are new antique-looking rugs that are within your price range, and many are much cheaper, and still look the part.

I could find a lot of them, but I think I’d need to know if you like them more graphic or more muted for your space.

Here’s one that’s more graphic

If you find one or two you like on ebay & search a good rug store, you can type color variances into their store search engine to limit your eye a bit.

Finding an antique oriental rug for under $250 is going to be pretty much impossible. This is the best I could do. It’s made in Pakistan and is a Tekke rug. It’s $350 and the webiste describes it a being from the “modern era” which is kind of vague. You could call for more specifics. It looks like a very nice rug and the orange in the rug would brighten up the room and complement the orange in your painting, I think.
