Do you have any overly ambitious plans?

Asked by tedd (14088points) July 13th, 2011

I was talking with a friend of mine today about things we want in our eventual yards, and I realized I have some pretty grand plans for mine. At the moment I don’t own a home or property, but I figure within the next 5 or so years I’ll be settling down and getting one (come on housing market crash lasting til then! :D ) .... Anyways I have always been a big fan of alternative energies, and have been long studying solar panels and wind turbines (going as far as to do a project on how scientifically solar panels work in college). So one thing I for sure have wanted was self-made solar panels on my home, and self made wind turbines in my yard.

Thinking further I’ve recently been getting into the idea of setting up my own “garden.” But more than just a small garden I want to set aside as much as an acre for summer gardening (though probably less as I’m only so motivated lol). Going with that I also wanted to set up a green house so that I could garden in the winter and still have fresh fruits/veggies.

Arguably most ambitiously I want to install an in ground pool that has a waterfall. Honestly it seems easier than it sounds, once you get past the cost/installation of the pool itself. Just have a regular pool at ground level, and then on a hill adjacent have a smaller pool. Have the filters collect from the lower pool and empty into the upper pool, and a waterfall equaling the water back out.

After talking about it all with my friend, I realized this is an incredibly ambitious back yard plan, and it hasn’t even gotten into what I want to do with my garage :).... lol

Do you have any overly ambitious plans for your future? Not restricted to lawn ideas.

This is extremely overly ambitious, but I would absolutely love to perform on Broadway one day.

I would like to live past 80…logic tells me though I probably won’t see 70 the way I live my life! HS!

Apart from world domination…no. Not really.

Run our own hippie chilly beach bar.
On the side, for the fun of it, manufactor my own furnitures.
And be able to just make a living out of them both.

I’d like to own a nightclub. It seems like the coolest business to own.

I’m a fat bag of crap and I want to be ripped in 90 days.

@poisonedantidote Honestly…. p90x. You won’t be trying out for Mr. Universe or anything, but you’ll have definition and muscles…. even starting from a “fat bag of crap.”

@66666666 Seriously, this dude made a new account? Get the fuck off of here.

@tedd p90x was what started it all off.

About a week ago I saw the infomercial on TV, and realized it was not your typical late night TV scam, as what they are selling is real exercise and diet, not some gadget.

I will be purchasing a copy of p90x in 1 months time, for now its healthy food and 60–90 minutes of gym a day.

I want to design rovers for NASA. And I still kind of want to be an astronaut too.

@poisonedantidote Yah its the real deal. When I was actively working out several years ago (around the age of 22), it beat the crap out of me. I thought, “well heck I work out an hour a day now, jog, and bench 300… whats the worst it could do?” ..... The best part is you can pretty much start at any level of ability, just do as much as you can and you will see marked improvement in weeks.

I’m quite fond of the idea that I may live forever, i’ve a feeling however that this could prove fruitless.

Yes, I intend to be the longest lived person in my family – so far. My grandparents and great grandparents, plus most of my Aunts and Uncles lived will into their 80’s and 90’s and I have my sights set on my 100’s.

I can’t decide which plan is more ambitious: getting paid to sing and act, or finishing writing a play/musical then getting people to pay to see it.
