Any ideas on what I should see/do in Manchester, England?
I’m in Manchester for a couple of nights next week. I’ve never been there, but I’d love any recommendations on a good pub, a good curry or a must-see sight. I’ll only really have Wednesday night for sight-seeing, but I intend to get out and see what I can.

There really isn’t much “sightseeing” to do there in my opinion.
For curry, head to Rusholme (Curry Mile) – every one has their favourite, so I can’t say “This” restaurant is the best.
I just sent your question to @downtide who lives there.
Me? No, I’d say you should go to the Trafford Centre if you’re onto your shopping, it’s massive.
You must eat on The Curry Mile.
You might like The Imperial War Museum North.
How about an excursion to here.
Before your “curry” – that is.
Definitely do the curry mile. Take a bus down Wilmslow road – any bus with number 40-something will get you there.
Also go out to Salford Quays, there’s quite a bit in that area – the Lowry (art gallery/theatre venue), Imperial War Museum, Old Trafford (even if you’re not a Man Utd fan, that’s worth a visit. Hallowed ground is hallowed ground). Alternatively take a bus to Eastlands and see the rival Man City stadium.
In the centre of town we still have the “Manchester Eye” (the ferris wheel) – nice views over the city.
If you like nightlife, bars and clubs, head to Canal Street and don’t be scared about it being the gay village. Also check out the Sinclair pub – which is reputed to be the 3rd oldest pub in Britain – near Cathedral Square. If for nothing else, you can get a pint for about £1.50 there.
