Why do popsicles come in wrappers of two?

Let’s say you have a popsicle box of 20 popsicles. How come every 2 popsicles the wrappers are conected and when you want a popsicle you rip it apart?

Because you share with friends, of course!
And when you share with friends, you can say “It was mine to start with, so you get the broken one.”
