When was the last time you winked at someone?

Asked by Facade (22937points) July 16th, 2011

And what type of wink was it (flirtatious, affirmative, etc.)?
How did they react?

Don’t be shy ;)

Why just yesterday I was winking at my 3 year old neighbor who was showing off her newly acquired winking skills. She still needs a bit of practice…

I was at a toy store with my children last weekend, waiting in line at the cash register, when a kid ahead of us turned around and smiled at my two little ones. He was quite cute, with long curly brown hair and a freckled face, and kept turning around and making funny faces at my children. When he looked up, he spotted me looking down at him, so I smiled and winked at him. The boy reacted sheepishly by acting as though he was embarrassed, bowed his head down slightly while still looking at me, with a cute smile on his face. I think he was surprised that someone noticed him playing with my kids, as well as realizing that I was acknowledging his “cuteness”. Being the little guy he was, he felt a bit uncomfortable and embarrassed I suppose, that somebody “caught him”. Heh heh.

A friend and I were driving in his car, and both of us had aviators on. Just to be jerks, we drove through the local park would periodically stop near groups of people, roll down our windows, and nod approvingly through our aviators in unison at the party outside of the car. We pulled up next to a girl and someone we presumed to be her significant other. Though he didn’t see us, she eventually noticed us with our shades halfway pulled down, nodding at her in approval. After a final wink, her boy friend turned around to see what she was looking at, and in that instant we pulled away.

I don’t know if I’ve ever winked at someone! Maybe it’s time to start? When my boyfriend and I are out in a group, if I catch his eye for a second, he’ll give me a smile and wink. It’s cute.

A few minutes ago I winked at the receptionist on my way out of the gym. I usually wink or nod my head, it basically means “I am aware you exist, yet have nothing to say to you right now”. It’s kind of like that elevator face people pull.

I don’t wink, more of a twitched eyebrow & a cheeky grin going on.

My girlfriend was in the sea, I was in the surf, when she came above water again I winked to her.
“I am still here baby, lovely to see you in joy!”

All my flirtatious winks are misunderstood as psychotic twitches.

Some girls like em. You know, that guy with the serial killer smile.

Funny you should ask… I was shopping about two hours ago and played a short game of hide-and-seek with a coy four or five year old girl out shopping with her mother and slightly older brother. The brother was oblivious to any of the people around, but I’d catch the little girl looking at me when I hadn’t been looking in her direction, and then turning away when she saw me look at her. So I made a game of it with her. We ended with smiles on both sides as she went away.

I heard my mom say my name across the room in conversation to someone. She saw me look over and wink, so I winked back.
Before that, I winked at a Jamaican cook in my restaurant, who blinked back. Do Jamaicans wink?

I winked at my 7 year old nephew last week. I was heading out of the room and wanted to acknowledge him on the way
