How do I fix this virus problem?

Asked by Nullo (22028points) July 17th, 2011

There are two, one of them a backdoor program called Cycbot.
I can get Avira to delete the things, but every time I do, my browsers (and probably other flavors of Internet) are blocked from all servers, forcing me to restore to a pre-cleaning state.

I’m going to work now, but if you send me a PM I’ll give you my msn and help guide you thrugh manually removing both problems.

You kind of need “the touch” to get rid of viruses, it’s hard to explain, you have to let the thing fight you a little while so you can see how its fighting. You need to know about killing processes and deactivating and deleting DLL’s and how to handle the registry to name a few things.

If you want to go it alone, I suggest you first find out the name of both problems, then google how to get rid of them, chances are there is probably already a step by step guide on them.

To be more secured, you gotta install more than an antivirus, some times it will make some conflict depending on the anti-viruses,but for now try one of the following online scanners

http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

scan and remove any virus

Hope it will help you

Nailed it. I had to select different proxies, but we’re OK now.
